Today, Nova Scotians are being asked to pause for a brief moment at noon. This year marks four years since the tragic events that occurred on April 18th/19th, 2020. We at 105.9 Seaside FM will also be participating in this moment of silence.Flags at legislature and all other provincial buildings will fly at half-mast from sunrise today until sunset tomorrow. “As each day, week and month passes since the events of April 18 and 19, we continue to reflect and remember those lives lost and honour the survivors and all those who have been impacted,” said Premier Tim Houston. “As a province, we must continue to support each other and work together to make changes to prevent something like this from happening again.”These events may still be emotional to hear, and that is completely okay. Supports can be found by calling 211 to reach a community resource navigator who can connect the caller with help. You can also phone the mental health and addictions crisis line at any time at 1-888-429-8167. Photo Credit: (Communications Nova Scotia / File)

We understand how difficult the final few weeks of school can be. The dedication to get through those final assignments is immeasurable, and with this in mind, a decision was made to EXTEND the deadline for the Wayne Harrett Multi Media Scholarship!! The new deadline is June 15th, 2024. Remember, the Wayne Harrett Scholarship consists of TWO $3,000 non-repayable scholarships to two interested parties that would be enrolling in a secondary institution to study ANY aspect of radio and television broadcasting/operations, journalism or public relations.Contact the Scholarship Committee for any questions at scholarship@seasidefm.com, or visit SeasideFM(dot)com/Scholarship for more information!!
